“Old Willow Tree is dedicated to Lisa Scott (nee Dowling), who passed away on 29/1/23. Lisa is everywhere in these songs, just as her spark, her wisdom, and her compassion live on in the many people she touched on her journey through life.

This could never have been a commercial release. We have chosen to honour Lisa by donating proceeds from its sale to charity. The Caroline Foundation funds cancer research within Ireland, helping develop the kind of treatments that gave Lisa many more years of life than would otherwise have been possible.

Island Song tells the story of the men from the north-east indigenous nations of Tasmania whose wives and daughters were taken as slaves by invading Europeans working in the sealing trade. The men gathered on the mountain Lueberrernenner to light fires and signal to the women that they had not forgotten them. This is a fire for you Lisa. We’ll keep lighting them.“
